The most popular club website in the AFL*, essendonfc.com.au has grown substantially over a period of 15 years whilst embracing emerging online trends and technologies. Blue Pebble Design, through the work of director Bradley Paton, has been involved since the launch of the website in 1995.The website is a showcase of what is possible with the web, featuring communications (news, results and history), interactive competitions and games, e-commerce functionality (online shop, auctions and membership purchase), audio and video content, and a members-only subscription service.
The launch of Bomber.tv, also developed by Blue Pebble Design, and a full website re-design in 2008 saw the club further enhance its reputation as a leader in the area of online activities.
*according to Neilsen Netratings statistics, based on both unique visitors and page impressions, a ranking the club has maintained since Neilsen began reporting on traffic numbers.
