Wine Week
How do you decide on what wine to buy? Do you simply buy what you know, or rely on the advice of knowledgeable friends? But what do you do if your local bottle shop doesn’t have the wine you always buy, or if you can’t get hold of your buddy the wine buff? The answer is to visit wineweek.com.au and download the weekly video podcasts to your computer or portable player.
Developed completely in-house at Blue Pebble Design, wineweek.com.au is the natural combination of our passion for web sites and good wine! Each week three wines are reviewed without any technical jargon getting in the way of us recommending you what is worth buying. We realise that shoppers are faced with almost endless choice when purchasing wine, so we share our knowledge of what is the current pick of the crop in an easily accessible format.
An average week will see us look at a bargain wine that will be certain to have both your hip pocket and your taste-buds happy. At the same time we will look at some mid-priced and more expensive wines. We provide some ideas on what sorts of food to match them with as well as suggested prices so you know if the prices at your local bottle shop really are a bargain.
Our aim is to make good wine accessible by using a video podcast. The video can be viewed either directly on a computer, or downloaded to an iPod or video capable phone so that you can grab recommendations as you browse the shelves of the wine store. Although the video is produced on a very tight budget, the end result is extremely professional and shows what is possible with modern digital video production.
In the first few months of launch more than 10 gigabytes of video was served up, and we’re pretty sure that a lot of good wine was served up by those who got the inside word from Wine Week!
